Enjoy your weekend

Homework this weekend & next week is to research and blog about pollination and seed dispersal. We talked about it this morning in the vegetable plot, whilst munching raspberries and strawberries, but what else can you find out?

Please write on the Year 3 blog, include photos or diagrams etc if you want, but please put it in your own words, do not just copy and paste from a website. You will need to do some research on-line and write some notes, then turn those into sentences (like we did in class for our non -chronological report on Brazil) four or five about each topic will be enough. You have until Friday July 4th, so LOADS of time!

Remember: Check you punctuation carefully, capitals for titles as well as other things and leave spaces after commas, full stops etc

Tag your work with your first name (only).

Anything I have forgotten?

Why not show your parents what we have been doing on our World Cup blog too?

Oh and ‘Stars of the Week’ it would be nice to have photos of our class bears and to hear about what they get up to when they go home with you!

Please can we all read do LOTS of reading this weekend, not just non-fiction and fiction but poetry, newspapers, blogs, recipes etc etc

Read, read, read!!!!!

A quick notes for all those who help with homework:

This week there’s another Reading Comprehension (ready for next week’s test on Tuesday) & quite a few data handling sheets – don’t feel you have to go through them all if they are taking a while, the Maths test is on Monday morning, so I just thought they may be a useful refresher! Times tables revision would be helpful too, as always!

We are hoping to do some more practical science work, in the vegetable plot, so if any children want to bring in their own gardening gloves & wellies or boots, named & in a plastic bag, also named, that would be fine.

Could children now have  P.E kit in school every day, please. This week, as you all know, we have an afternoon of orienteering at Deyes High that Mr Rafferty will take the children to on Wednesday (1.30-3.15pm), followed by a footy competition for some of the class. We also want to be able to take advantage of good weather to get in a bit of Sports Day practice.

Fruit Juice Friday may return this week – please let me know if your child cannot eat a particular fruit e.g rhubarb, strawberries etc or carrots, thanks.
